Meme short-term sentiment: how’s it looking today?
I only pay attention to meme coins when they have independent buying demand. Otherwise, I treat it as volatility.
For meme coins, first check whether the leader has volume, then see if the smaller coins dare to follow.
DOGE 0.0793 (-1.78%), SHIB 0.00000498 (-1.97%), WIF 0.1984 (-2.36%), BONK 0.00000297 (-2.94%)
For comparison: BTC 81470 (24h -0.23%).
Even leader DOGE is only down -1.78%; the weakest, PEPE, is down -3.98%. Meme coins are bleeding. Talking about sentiment recovering is self-deception.
BTC is still at 81470 (-0.23%). Until BTC gets above 82,121, I consider any meme-coin move to the upside noise.
The switch for meme coins is BTC: unless it gets above 81770, I won’t count gains in small coins as a sector-wide move.
Data: Binance spot 24h / Binance USDⓈ-M / Yahoo daily (5-day change) / altme_fng / mempool_fees / defillama_chains / coingecko_trending. Missing numbers are not filled in.
Are you sitting in cash and waiting for a pullback, or are you already on board?

Takeaway: BTC settlement finality relies on the longest chain, not on whoever in the group is first to call a rally.
Food for thought: Fear & Greed <25: sentiment is cold, but that doesn’t confirm a bottom.
