Profits from a celebrity meme coin are estimated to be in the billion-dollar range. The founder of CryptoQuant offered an estimate of $779.4 million to $1.16 billion. The figures cover the period from January 2025 to October 1, 2026.

The lower estimate counts only confirmed proceeds, based on stablecoin outflows and tokens transferred to labeled exchange addresses. The upper estimate also includes transfers to unidentified custodians and external addresses. These transfers may not necessarily represent sales.

The price fell from $73 to $1.80. It peaked on January 19, 2025, just days after launch—a decline of about 97.5%. A $1,000 investment at the peak would now be worth about $25.

The token launched on Solana in January 2025. Eighty percent of its supply was allocated to entities affiliated with the creator, subject to a multiyear vesting period. A separate Reuters investigation in June looked at four crypto projects tied to the family, putting their combined value at about $2.3 billion, including roughly $616 million from this coin.

The two estimates use different methodologies and shouldn’t be added together directly.

In crypto, this kind of profit-taking gets priced into the risk premium for altcoins. When liquidity is thin, concentrated holdings matter more than the narrative. Do you think celebrity tokens are still worth investing in? Join the conversation in the comments.
