Reports say the incident involving UNCX Network’s Smart Token Vesting V2 is quite interesting: the attack used no administrator privileges. A series of public vesting operations created a mismatch between the token balance in the pool and the recorded shares, allowing the attacker to withdraw more than they were entitled to. These “logic-level accounting error” vulnerabilities are often harder to prevent than cases where a contract’s private key is stolen, because the code itself “appears” not to bypass any permissions, and audits can easily miss edge cases where shares and balances don’t match.

The incident affected four chains—Ethereum, BNB Chain, Base, and Robinhood—and 10 tokens. Verified economic losses were around $807,600, of which about $567,500 was on BNB Chain. This shows that for protocols deployed across multiple chains, risks can compound: a problem on one chain doesn’t necessarily mean only that chain is affected. On the bright side, the white hat has returned 82.1435 million X tokens and 23.8682 ETH. No significant amount of tokens remains to be handled, so the response was reasonably efficient.

My personal view is that incidents like this have limited impact on $BNB itself, a public chain with a large ecosystem, and are more of a reminder to pay close attention to share-accounting logic in vesting and lockup contracts. I could be wrong, though—if it is later confirmed that the attacker and the party who returned the funds were the same people, or that other affected protocols have not been disclosed, the narrative would be completely different.

As of 23:00, $ETH is priced at 2,427, with a daily RSI14 of just 39 and sitting near the lower end of its 30-day range, at 22%, indicating weak short-term sentiment. $BNB is priced at 721.6 and is likewise at 13% of its 30-day range, with a daily RSI14 of 40. Both are trading below MA7 and MA25, and the weak trend remains unchanged. In this environment, the marginal impact of security incidents can be amplified by sentiment, so it’s worth keeping an eye on things for a few more days.

The above is solely my personal opinion and does not constitute investment advice.
