$EPIC The 0.3144 level watched in the previous post was crossed this time, but price failed to hold above it: this four-hour candle briefly pushed to a high of 0.3194, then fell back below, dropping to 0.2868 within the same candle—about 10% off the high—before recovering to 0.3091 USDT near the close. The 24-hour gain narrowed from +41.6% at the time of the previous post to +34.5%, while the net gain for this four-hour candle was just 1.58%.

The cost side barely moved this time: the 00:00 funding-rate settlement reading was +0.03%, close to the +0.016% reading at the time of the previous post and still near the zero line. Price broke upward, got pushed back, and then recovered, but funding costs never followed along through the entire move. The two are still moving independently.

Watch two levels from here: reclaim and hold above this four-hour high of 0.3194 for the breakout to count; a close below this four-hour low of 0.2868 would open the way for another leg down. The next funding-rate settlement is at 04:00 Taipei time: a reading that moves clearly away from the zero line would signal a shift on the cost side; if it stays near zero, that would mean no directional bias remains.

Keep the opposite scenario in mind, too: a market that has moved 35% in a day is naturally volatile. It is not yet clear whether the failed breakout was just a pause along the way or a sign that momentum is starting to fade. The range between this four-hour candle’s high and low still exceeds 10%, and after such a sharp back-and-forth move, an equally fast reversal could happen again at any time.
