Where does a transaction wait after broadcast but before being added to the blockchain?
When the mempool is full, nodes first remove transactions with the lowest fee rates. Transactions with fees that are too low may be pushed out of the mempool.
“Child Pays for Parent” (CPFP) means spending the output of a stuck transaction and then sending another transaction with a high fee. For miners to include the second transaction, they must include the first one as well.
The most important thing to remember when managing your positions: if a transaction remains unconfirmed for a long time, don’t rush to send another transfer. Consider Replace-by-Fee (RBF) or Child Pays for Parent (CPFP) first.
