📊 $222M liquidated in the past 24 hours! More than 70,000 traders wiped out, with longs accounting for 72.3%

According to CoinGlass, 71,183 traders were liquidated across the market in the past 24 hours, with the total reaching $222 million.

Of that total, $160 million came from long positions, accounting for 72.3%; short positions accounted for just $61.43 million. This shows that amid the current choppy downtrend, bulls are still recklessly trying to catch falling knives—and ended up bearing the brunt of it.

Here are the hardest-hit tokens:

BTC: About $43.52 million liquidated ($36.38 million in longs), making it the biggest liquidation machine.
ETH: About $36.32 million liquidated ($27.54 million in longs), close behind.
SOL: About $9.18 million liquidated ($7.58 million in longs).
ZEC: About $8.8 million liquidated ($6.75 million in longs).
XRP and NEAR: $4.76 million and $4.22 million liquidated, respectively—all from longs getting caught in the wreckage.

One outlier is worth noting: CL (crude oil) saw about $7.64 million liquidated, of which a whopping $7.636 million came from short positions—nearly a total wipeout. This suggests a sudden surge in crude prices crushed the shorts.

In a nutshell: Long sentiment is far too crowded, so even a slight dip can trigger a cascade of liquidations. The market is still looking weak. Don’t blindly buy the dip or stubbornly hold losing positions. Wait for this round of leverage to be flushed out, then look for key levels to enter.
