【Retail investors still buying the dip on ZEC? Take a closer look at who’s dumping】

A lot of people think ZEC has fallen 64% from its peak, so it must have "bottomed out." But what they haven’t noticed is that institutions and smart money have still been heading for the exits over the past 48 hours.

CoinDesk had an interesting detail today: Bitcoin briefly fell below $80,000, then rebounded and stabilized, but outflows from ZEC, ETH, and SOL never stopped. What does that mean? The rebound was a BTC story—ZEC didn’t benefit at all.

I’ve seen this happen far too many times. The price falls by half, people buy the dip thinking it’s an opportunity, and then discover there’s another bottom below. It’s not that technical analysis is wrong; it’s that people don’t understand the underlying dynamics. How far it’s fallen isn’t the point—who’s selling and why is what matters.

ZEC’s problem isn’t that its technology is outdated. It’s that the privacy coin sector is under scrutiny right now. Regulatory and compliance pressures are growing year by year, and big-money investors simply don’t dare to hold for the long term. Retail investors see a bargain and want to buy the dip, while institutions use the opportunity to get out. That creates a vicious cycle of "the more it falls, the more they sell; the more they sell, the further it falls."

Honestly, from a business perspective, the future of privacy coins is looking increasingly narrow. It’s not that the technology is bad—the entire compliance environment is squeezing their room to survive.

What does this mean in practice? Holders still stubbornly hanging on are going to be in a very difficult position. They can either wait for the next narrative to take off, or accept their losses and leave. There’s no such thing as "value investing" here. If the trend doesn’t turn, the longer you hold on, the more you’ll lose.

ZEC holders, how are you planning to handle this move? Hold on no matter what, or get out for now?
