What factors affect the liquidation price?
In cross-margin mode, lowering the leverage multiplier by itself won’t move the liquidation price farther away. Reducing your position size or adding to your balance will. Liquidation occurs when your margin balance falls below the maintenance margin; it doesn’t wait until your margin is completely depleted.
Think of the maintenance margin as a safety line: if your margin balance drops below it, the system will forcibly close your position and usually deduct an additional liquidation fee.
