Fidelity’s Center for Applied Technology has published a network-health assessment of Solana ( $SOL ), finding no reported mainnet outages for two years while flagging concentrations in validators, hosting and software. Its Q3 2026 snapshot counted about 717 active validator identities. Roughly 20 of them controlled more than one-third of active stake, the threshold at which a coordinated group could disrupt finality. The report stresses that identities are not the same as independent operators.

It estimates that 59% of stake was located in Germany, the Netherlands and the U.S., based on IP geolocation, including about 40% around Frankfurt and Amsterdam. Fidelity also notes progress in independent validator software, including Firedancer, but says shared code and infrastructure remain relevant risks. This is a structural assessment, not a report of a current outage or exploit.
