TON’s privacy premium is starting to erode
Federal court documents revealed that Telegram hands over users’ phone numbers, user IDs, last-login IP addresses, and timestamps in response to valid legal requests. Throughout 2024, it responded to around 900 U.S. law enforcement requests involving 2,253 users.
TON’s valuation already includes an option on access to Telegram’s 900 million users. Every time its privacy terms loosen, that premium gets marked down another notch. In the short term, TON has repeatedly tested levels above a round-number mark, while rebound highs have stepped lower. Rallies followed by pullbacks are the main trend. The only area worth looking to buy is the turnover zone after the previous low is decisively broken. If [the other asset] weakens in tandem, TON’s catch-up drop will only be larger.
