Dusk went live on the Ethereum mainnet last week, marking Nillion’s shift from its previous focus on blind computation, storage, and inference toward a stronger focus on Encrypted Markets.
The key change is that condition-sealed instructions can now exist on L1 and be interpreted with the help of a permissionless node network, rather than remaining in a test environment.
Nodes earn rewards by staking NIL, forming an initial participation and incentive loop.
According to the roadmap, Darkfall will expand to more EVM chains, Skyglow will explore cross-chain observation and settlement, and Nightside will introduce more flexible custom conditions.
I’m more interested in the latter two: only when condition logic is sufficiently complex and can be executed across chains might Covenants evolve from an improved version of conditional orders into a truly useful tool for strategy privacy.
For now, we still need to observe real-world adoption on mainnet and the stability of the node network before we can assess how quickly this direction will take hold.
