Jensen Huang has put a tight leash on AI chips

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said in London that customers could be cut off from chip supplies if they develop unsafe AI software. He also pledged $250 million worth of computing resources to the UK over the next five years—around $50 million a year—to support AI safety testing at institutions such as Oxford and Imperial College.

The risk of AI training being choked off is bearing directly on the computing-rental and decentralized AI sectors. Subnet incentives rely on demand for large-model training. If regulation raises the bar for training, budgets for renting GPUs will be squeezed first, and short-term selling pressure will likely test the $240 level. Narratives around these AI agent coins attract a lot of momentum traders, and market makers can easily use negative headlines to shake out weak holders. Thin bids below may not absorb a steady stream of sell orders. Signs of capital shifting toward safe havens have already emerged in the short term. The AI sector will need to wait for the details of Nvidia’s latest safety review to be finalized before it can stabilize. Don’t rush to catch a falling knife just yet.
