🔥 These coins have been looking interesting lately…
Anyone watching the market today probably saw it: two familiar names, APT and OP, both headed lower in near-perfect sync. Let’s take a look at what’s behind this drop.
First, APT: currently at 0.818, down 7.3% over 24 hours (1h -1%, 4h -2%). It slid steadily from 0.89 intraday to a low of 0.8171, giving back almost all of its gains from the past few days. Aptos previously rode a wave of hype around the Move ecosystem and the RWA/institutional narrative, but once that hype fades, capital pulls out fast. It’s a case of “rising on the story, falling back to reality.” Near-term support is around 0.81 (today’s low); if that breaks, the next level to watch is 0.79. Resistance is at 0.85, and getting back to 0.89 looks tough in the short term. My take: this drop is driven more by fading sentiment than deteriorating fundamentals, but there’s no need to catch a falling knife. Let’s see whether it can hold around 0.81 first.
Next, OP: currently at 0.1327, down 6% over 24 hours (both 1h and 4h are -2%), after sliding from a high of 0.1439 to 0.1325. The Superchain narrative behind Optimism hasn’t fallen apart, but competition in the L2 space is fierce right now, with Base and Arbitrum both fighting for market share. Fresh capital flowing into OP clearly isn’t keeping up. Support is around 0.132 (right near today’s low); if it breaks, watch 0.128. Resistance is at 0.14, and it needs to hold above that level before things start looking promising. My view: the L2 sector as a whole is deflating, so OP is unlikely to make a move of its own in the short term and will probably follow the broader market.
In short: today’s market is all about “fading hype and shrinking capital.” Defense matters more than offense, so don’t rush to buy the dip.
