Factories built for the US electric-vehicle market are being repurposed to make batteries for grid storage as EV demand weakens and electricity demand from data centers and new factories grows, according to Bloomberg.

Battery makers are shifting toward stationary storage, a market that still depends on federal incentives and a supply chain partly reliant on China. At TransGridโ€™s Atlas projects in Arizona, contractor Qcells is using US-made battery cells from LG Energy Solution.
