The mainstream narrative is touting new highs driven by “stocks and crypto moving together,” but I’m watching the market: $BTC is currently at 81,586, down 1.27%. Of the 15 major coins, only 1 is up—a breadth of just 6.7%. That divergence is glaring.

A Fidelity report this morning said the correlation between BTC and real interest rates has turned positive. Institutions are avoiding bond-market risk, while retail traders are chasing highs. The $BTC long/short ratio is 1.71, and $ETH is as high as 2.80. Futures longs are crowded, and if support at 81,000 gives way, the risk of a cascade is enormous.

My plan: stay on the sidelines, with a bearish bias. Watch the 80,500–81,000 entry zone; the setup is invalidated if price breaks below 80,500. Targets: 79,800, then 79,000. The rationale is extremely narrow breadth plus crowded longs—a combination that has often led to catch-up losses historically. Don’t let the “new highs” narrative distract you; data is more honest than stories.

Wait for $BTC to pick a direction before making a move.
