Who is Wei Dai?
Put simply, the smallest unit of Ethereum, the wei, is generally thought to be named after Wei Dai. 1 ETH equals 10 to the 18th power wei.
b-money proposed a ledger maintained jointly by multiple pseudonymous participants, with new money created by solving computational puzzles. You can see similar ideas later in Bitcoin.
The white paper for $BTC cites Wei Dai’s b-money as its very first reference.
