Token approvals: Connecting a wallet does not mean handing over permission to spend your tokens
With common ERC-20 tokens, approve lets a specified address transfer tokens on your behalf up to a set allowance. Connecting to a website usually only lets it read your address; these are not the same thing.
The risk of unlimited approvals is that if the approved contract has a vulnerability or the address is malicious, the tokens concerned could be transferred away. Disconnecting from a website usually does not revoke approvals that have already been recorded on-chain.
Before taking action, check the chain, token, approved address, and allowance. Prefer approving only what you need, and regularly review and revoke unused allowances. Revoking usually requires an on-chain transaction and gas, and cannot recover assets that have already been transferred.
My take: A little less convenience is fine, but always check what permissions you’re granting. #区块链知识 #WalletSecurity
