Hong Kong police have arrested four people in an investigation into a suspected investment scam involving BBB Group, which promoted investments in Malaysia’s agarwood industry and sold over-the-counter shares and digital assets. According to ChainCatcher, the company said it would convert its OTC shares into cryptocurrency-based digital assets by February 2027 or earlier.

Police have received reports from 21 people involving a total of HK$14 million, and the Commercial Crime Bureau is investigating the case as conspiracy to defraud. The Securities and Futures Commission has listed “Malaysia Agarwood Plantation Investment,” “Agarwood Tree Project,” “Agarwood Potted Trees” and “APT4” as suspicious investment products.
