【If UNI drops to $5, will this protocol die?】

I’ve been using Uniswap since v2 launched in 2019. Back then, how much trading volume did it do in a day? A few million at most. And now? Billions.

Guess what—the token price has fallen from over $30 back then to $7 today.

What does that tell us? The price has long been lagging behind the fundamentals.

Now that it’s down to $7, I actually find it interesting. Why? Because from a business perspective, Uniswap is one of the DeFi world’s strongest projects when it comes to actual cash flow—tens of millions in fees every day, real users using it, and real money changing hands. If this were a traditional business, people would be clamoring to buy it even at a 10x P/E ratio.

The problem is, the market just doesn’t recognize that right now.

The FNG Index is at 55, with a weekly average of 60, which suggests sentiment is still holding up. But here’s the thing: this kind of stability is actually the most dangerous—it means the big money hasn’t moved yet and is waiting for a signal.

In my experience, when valuations are this severely compressed, it’s often a process of shaking out investors, shaking out coins, and testing the patience of those who can’t hold on. The people who can really hold know what this thing is worth.

So who would be affected?

If the price keeps getting hammered, early participants might choose to sell, and liquidity could contract temporarily. But on the flip side, the protocol itself won’t stop operating just because the token price has fallen.

The logic is simple: the project is alive, demand is there, and sooner or later the price will reflect the fundamentals.

The question is, how long are you willing to wait?

I tend to think this irrational undervaluation is actually an opportunity for people who haven’t gotten in yet. How much they can make of it is up to their own judgment.

This isn’t a shill. I’m just saying that, from a business perspective, UNI’s current price is pretty absurd.

If you’re holding UNI, what do you make of this move? Can you still hold on? Let’s talk in the comments.
