#美国PPI同比升至6.3%

31 hours after PPI blew past expectations: How much of yesterday’s rally on “bad news out of the way” is left?

When I posted yesterday at 10:35—$BTC $82,136 (+0.8%), $ETH $2,439 (+1.3%); WTI crude $95.93, Brent $102.87, gold $4,163
Today at 18:10—BTC $81,564 (all the gains wiped out, now down another 0.7%), ETH $2,434 (barely unchanged); WTI $98.96 (up another 3.2%), Brent $107.04 (up another 4.1%), gold $4,169 (unchanged)

The takeaway is crystal clear: energy—the very thing driving PPI higher—is still getting more expensive. The inflation fire is nowhere near out. The risk assets’ euphoria that “the hotter the data, the higher we go” cooled off by half in just 31 hours. They may say they’re not worried about rate hikes, but their actions tell the truth.

(September PPI: up 6.3% year over year vs. 5.4% expected, and up 1.3% month over month vs. 0.6% expected; core PPI up 5.0% year over year vs. 4.4% expected; energy component up 10.8% for the month—released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics on October 16; prices are real-time Binance futures/TradFi perpetual prices)

With the October 27–28 rate-setting meeting coming up, CME’s odds of a 25 bp hike have climbed to over 30%. Which side are you on?
