$31.9 trillion in cumulative transfers across TRON and Polygon… but liquidity doesn’t move the same way on every network.

According to Eco data published on October 8, cumulative stablecoin transfer volume across the two networks exceeded $31.9 trillion, while their combined monthly transfer volume reached $828 billion in September.

But the most important figure to me isn’t volume alone—it’s how the nature of activity differs across the two networks.

On TRON, USDT accounts for about 98.5% of stablecoin transfer volume, while USDC represents around 74.3% of the volume on Polygon, according to the figures cited.

This difference shows that each network has a distinct footprint in the stablecoin market: TRON is strongly associated with USDT activity, while USDC accounts for a larger share of the activity cited on Polygon.

This matters when looking at digital payments infrastructure, because a network’s success isn’t measured by total volume alone, but also by the types of assets used, the nature of the flows, and how effectively companies can connect different payment rails.

With TRON’s support in Open Money Stack, the importance of connecting stablecoin networks through more integrated payment rails becomes clear—helping businesses and applications that rely on moving value across the blockchain.

The takeaway: the figures reveal the scale of activity, but the distribution of liquidity between USDT and USDC gives us a clearer picture of how each network is being used.
