The Fed chair left no opening for a rate hike this time.
Warsh spoke at a discussion hosted by the International Monetary Fund.
He didn’t mention rate-hike guidance at all.
He only said he wouldn’t prejudge the outcome of the meeting.

Markets took his remarks as dovish.
The odds of a 25-basis-point rate hike in October fell to 15%.
They had been 27% the day before.
That’s a 12-percentage-point drop in a single day.

Some economists believe a rate hike at the October meeting can essentially be ruled out.
They point to pressure on the AI sector.
The timing of rate cuts was not mentioned.

Tension in risk assets eased a notch.
Bitcoin was trading around $81,558 on Saturday.
Its high for the week had been above $84,000.
South Korea’s KOSPI closed at 5,668, up 2% on the day.

The bond market didn’t follow suit.
The 10-year Treasury yield touched 5.13% intraday.
It fell back to 5.07% late in the session.
That still leaves it near its year-to-date high.

For crypto, the odds of a rate hike are the denominator in valuations.
When the denominator eases, leverage can start coming back.
