The Nasdaq fell about 4.5% this week, while the Dow is still climbing. They’re both U.S. stocks—so why such a big difference? 👀 As of the close on October 16, U.S. Eastern Time, the Nasdaq Composite was down about 4.5% for the week, while the Dow Jones was up about 0.7%. If you’re heavily invested in tech stocks, this week may have felt a lot rougher than the market headlines suggest. AI-related stocks, which had been driving the market higher, became a drag this time. CoreWeave fell about 12% on Friday, Nvidia dropped about 1.5%, and chip stocks remained under pressure. The market is starting to ask: As more and more data centers are built, when will all that investment pay off? This is especially concerning for companies expanding with borrowed money. If investors become less optimistic about future revenue, debt and interest costs stand out all the more. The Dow’s gains this week show just how differently various sectors are performing. It’s too soon to conclude that nobody is buying U.S. stocks just because the Nasdaq fell. But the Dow’s rise doesn’t prove that tech stocks have bottomed out, either. I trade NQ, and next week I’ll first be watching to see whether tech stocks can stop falling. Even if the Dow keeps climbing, if the Nasdaq rebounds but still can’t get past its previous swing high, I won’t rush into a long just because “U.S. stocks are still strong.” If the Nasdaq holds its low, breaks above its previous swing high on a rebound, and then pulls back without breaking below it, I’ll have a stronger case for going long. A big drop alone isn’t enough to justify an entry for me. Do you think tech stocks can stop falling next week? #纳指道指周度差距创2002年7月来最大 {spot}(QQQBUSDT)

It was still giving back gains in the previous completed hour, but intraday it has now widened the gap again to nearly 10%. Public Binance data at 13:36 (UTC+8) shows $GTC up 21.02% and 18.64% over 24 hours in spot and perpetual markets, respectively, with perpetual trading volume of about 28.94 million USDT. Over the last 4 completed hours, the perpetual contract has risen a cumulative 9.82%, with trading volume 5.35 times that of the preceding 4 hours. However, the previous completed 1-hour period was down 1.12%, while volume increased 56.28% from the prior hour. As price volatility picked up, OI by quantity fell 0.20% over one hour and rose only 0.88% over the 30-point window, so leveraged positions have not expanded significantly alongside the price rise. The indicated funding rate has dropped to -0.2200%, while the most recent actual settlement was only -0.0047%, leaving a clear gap between the expected and settled rates. The current, unclosed price is 9.63% above the previous hour's close, so this rally cannot yet be treated as confirmed by the close. If a subsequent full 1-hour period holds around 0.233, with trading remaining active and OI recovering moderately, that would indicate that buyers have absorbed the intraday acceleration. If the price falls back below 0.2152 alongside contracting OI, even deeply negative funding will not prevent deleveraging after the spike.

Short-term holders now hold 4.08 million $BTC. Are they all buying the dip? 👀 According to analyst Axel Adler Jr., holdings in this group have risen to their highest level since mid-June, up about 422,000 BTC from the July 29 low. More coins have recently changed hands, but how long these holders will hold depends on the price. If buyers step in during pullbacks, there may be room to move higher; if everyone rushes to sell at the first drop, volatility could increase. I’ll be watching for buying support rather than treating rising holdings as a buy signal. 🎁🧧 #比特币短期持有者持仓升至408万枚

The gain is already substantial, but leverage pricing has yet to show clear signs of overheating. Public Binance data at 11:36 (UTC+8) shows $TIA spot and perpetual prices up 23.17% and 23.28%, respectively, over 24 hours, with perpetual trading volume at approximately 506 million USDT. Over the last completed hour, the perpetual price rose 1.90%, while trading volume increased 199.32% from the previous hour. Over the latest four completed hours, it gained 4.36%, with trading volume at 1.24 times that of the preceding four hours. Quantity OI rose 1.53% in one hour and expanded 30.90% over the 30-point window, indicating that new leverage is still entering as prices rise. However, the indicative funding rate is only +0.0017%, and the latest settlement was even -0.0037%, so long positioning does not yet appear extremely crowded. The current price is already 4.73% above the previous completed hour’s close, so the greater risk here is a pullback after chasing the rally. If the next completed hourly candle can hold near 0.7034, with trading volume and OI continuing to expand moderately, the strong structure still has room to continue. If the price falls back below that level and OI contracts rapidly, it would look more like deleveraging after a spike.

ICNT perpetuals are still rising at an accelerating pace, but the leverage structure has not shifted uniformly bullish. Public Binance data at 09:36 (UTC+8) showed $ICNT at 0.1980 USDT, up 37.41% over 24 hours, with perpetual trading volume of about 193 million USDT. The previous full one-hour period gained 5.69%, while trading volume increased 98.12% from the hour before and OI quantity rose 5.87%. Across 30 hourly data points, OI expanded by a cumulative 71.97%. Prices and open interest rising together suggest this move is more than just the closing of existing positions. The divergence is that Funding remains at -0.0134%, and the most recent settlement was also -0.0067%: the perpetual market still has a clear short bias amid the rally, so the risk of a squeeze has not gone away. I would not chase longs based solely on negative Funding. Although the last four full hours saw another 10.50% gain, trading volume was only 64.80% of the previous four-hour period, and the current price is 4.49% above the close of the previous full hour. If volume picks up and the price holds near 0.1895, while OI continues to expand and Funding remains negative, there would be a stronger basis for the uptrend to continue. If the price pulls back as OI drops sharply, that would look more like a high-volatility deleveraging move, significantly increasing the risk of chasing the rally.

Binance has confirmed the migration of VELODROME into AERO and the AERO contract swap: 1 VELODROME will be converted into 0.044 new AERO, while old AERO will be converted at a 1:1 ratio. $AERO Existing spot and perpetual trading will not be affected; the VELODROMEUSDT perpetual contract will be settled and delisted at 17:00 on October 28 (UTC+8), and spot trading will stop at 11:00 on November 3. AERO’s total supply will increase from 2 billion to 2.12 billion, and its circulating supply from 1 billion to 1.07 billion. According to Binance public data at 07:36 (UTC+8), AERO spot was trading at 0.8794 USDT, down 5.68% over 24 hours; VELODROME spot was at 0.03858 USDT, down 4.60%. At the 0.044 conversion ratio, VELODROME implies an AERO price of about 0.8768 USDT, less than 0.3% away from AERO’s spot price. The market has largely priced in the conversion ratio. I’m more focused on post-swap supply and liquidity, and wouldn’t treat platform support alone as an upside catalyst. AERO has rebounded just 1.57% over the last four complete hours, the 30-point window for OI by quantity is down 0.53%, and funding is near neutral. If the spread widens, first distinguish between a liquidity discount ahead of the cutoff and a repricing of AERO. Since the contract and spot trading stop at different times, avoid treating short-term deviations near the key dates as risk-free arbitrage.

NeoSoul builds infrastructure for AI agents. Its product NeoTrade lets users configure AI trading agents to analyze the market and execute trades within user-defined permissions and funding limits. 💡 What’s the team’s background? According to RootData: • Co-founder Kaelan: Graduated from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and previously worked at HashKey. • Chief AI Architect Marcus Meng: Graduated from Monash University, has over 11 years of experience in technology and product development, and previously served as a blockchain architect at Accenture. • Head of APAC Hans Chen: Studied at the University of California, Davis, and previously worked at Nomura Securities as an analyst and key account manager. 💡 As for funding, public reports show two rounds totaling $15 million: ① April 2026: $4 million seed round. ② August 20, 2026: $11 million Pre-A round, with participation from MH Ventures, Amber Group, ArkStream Capital, 0G Foundation, Kirin Capital, CatcherVC, and New Oak International. The $11 million round was announced in a project press release and disclosed by investors. The earlier $4 million seed round was reported by media, but some funding databases haven’t listed it yet, so it’s best not to treat any single platform as the final word on the number of rounds. A solid track record and funding are promising, but the product’s real-world performance remains to be seen. We’ll also have to wait for the price and liquidity to find out how much 400 DNA is worth. And remember to factor in the 15 points spent on claiming—don’t count your “big win” before it lands. 🙈 Will you have enough points to claim this airdrop later?! * NFA, DYOR.

#nil $NIL @Nillion
Nillion, Covenants, and Dusk: A Starting Point for Crypto Markets
On-chain transactions are highly transparent: your orders, stop-losses, and strategies are exposed to the entire network before they execute, making them vulnerable to front-running or leaks. Nillion’s core product, Covenants, aims to solve this problem by sealing instructions until their conditions are met, at which point they are unlocked for execution.
What I find most compelling about Covenants:
I like its design best: intent remains completely unreadable until its conditions are met, without relying on a single trusted party.
Users bind trades, orders, bids, or agent actions to conditions (such as price thresholds or time windows), encrypt them, and publish them to Ethereum. Until the conditions are met, outsiders can only see that “an encrypted instruction exists,” but cannot read its contents. Once the conditions are met, a permissionless network of nodes staking NIL automatically releases the shares and executes the instruction.
Technically, it uses Shamir secret sharing and identity-based encryption: the payload is split into m shares, any k of which can reconstruct it, while k-1 shares reveal nothing. The author only needs to submit once; they don’t have to stay online themselves or rely on a centralized keeper. This directly protects “intent privacy” while retaining Ethereum’s settlement security. Early applications such as sealed-bid auctions, hidden stop-losses, and time-locked vaults have already demonstrated its practicality.
The features I’m most looking forward to after Dusk mainnet launches:
Dusk is the first phase of a seven-phase roadmap. It launched on Ethereum mainnet in early October 2026, completing the foundational deployment of Covenants and the migration of its node network.
Next, I’m most looking forward to:
- Darkfall: Expanding to more EVM chains and strengthening node accountability.
- Skyglow: Enabling cross-chain condition monitoring and settlement, and extending support to non-EVM chains.
- Nightside (my top pick): Supporting arbitrary custom conditions and integrating various verifiable data sources, making trigger logic truly programmable.
- Later phases: Neon (a dedicated language and VM), Aurora (post-quantum hardening), and Moonshine (cost and scaling optimizations).
For those interested in on-chain privacy and market structure, Nillion’s Covenants offer a primitive worth watching. It doesn’t try to replace transparent settlement; instead, it adds a verifiable seal around intent on top of transparent settlement. Dusk is only the beginning—the truly interesting part is just getting started.
WAL has shifted from crowded high leverage to deleveraging after a high-volume decline. Public Binance data at 13:36 (UTC+8) showed $WAL spot at 0.04788 USDT and perpetuals at 0.04773 USDT, down 10.10% and 9.07% respectively over 24 hours; perpetual trading volume was about 280 million USDT. The last 4 complete hours saw a cumulative decline of 8.60%, with perpetual trading volume of about 31.89 million USDT, 2.63 times that of the preceding 4 hours. Although the previous complete 1-hour period rebounded 3.17% and trading volume rose 42.53% from the prior hour, this rebound has not yet reversed the high-volume decline over 4 hours. OI in contracts fell 2.30% over the last 1 hour and 35.79% cumulatively over the 30-point window; the Funding indicator stood at -0.0606%, with the latest settlement at -0.0553%. The simultaneous price pullback and position contraction indicate that deleveraging is still underway. The negative funding rate suggests that short positions carry a relatively high cost, but it cannot be treated as a reversal signal on its own. Until 0.05194 is reclaimed on an hourly close, I will view the rebound only as a recovery within the decline, and will also look for OI to stop contracting. On the other hand, if 0.04477 is decisively broken on high volume, position liquidations may continue to push the volatility midpoint lower. Both assessments await the close; I won't jump to conclusions based on an unfinished candle.

Could someone have had their eye on your stop-loss for a while? Nillion is trying to change something about on-chain trading. Anyone who trades should understand: before the market reaches a certain level, I’d rather not let others know where I’m planning to enter or exit. But in some on-chain markets with public order books, people can analyze orders and wallet activity. Transparency is a good thing, but it feels off when others can see your trading plans in advance. I recently took a look at Covenants from @nillionnetwork , and my first thought was: could this be used to hide trading plans? 💡 What are Covenants? You can think of them as a kind of “encrypted conditional instruction.” For example, I might want to wait until ETH reaches a certain price before taking action. The traditional approach might require placing a public order in advance or having a bot watch the market constantly. Covenants offer another possibility: encrypt the instruction and put it on-chain first. Once the conditions are met, the network can work together to decrypt it, allowing the subsequent action to be carried out. This gives some trading intent the chance to remain hidden until execution. 💡 And what is Dusk? On October 6, Nillion’s first version, Dusk, officially launched on the Ethereum mainnet. Dusk brings encrypted instructions, conditional triggers, and collaboration between distributed nodes into a real on-chain environment. What I’m most looking forward to is what comes next. If DEXs can use this technology in the future, could traders get the chance to hide some of their order strategies, or even their stop-loss plans? Of course, Dusk can’t yet make all on-chain trading invisible. Later phases, such as Darkfall, are still in development, and we’ll have to see what becomes possible in practice. 💡 As for whether this technology will make go up? It’s hard to say for now.

I recently took a look at Covenants from @Nillion , and my first thought was: could this be used to hide trading plans?

💡 What are Covenants?

You can think of them as a kind of “encrypted conditional instruction.”

For example, I might want to wait until ETH reaches a certain price before taking action.

I want to see whether developers build products that people actually use, and whether that demand ultimately translates into value for NIL.

INJ’s rally this round is not driven by price alone: Public Binance data at 11:36 (UTC+8) showed spot at 8.961 USDT and perpetuals at 8.952 USDT for $INJ , up 21.84% and 21.78% respectively over 24 hours. Perpetual trading volume was approximately 178 million USDT. The previous full 1-hour candle rose from 8.697 to 9.116, a gain of 4.82%, with a high of 9.190. Trading volume was approximately 30.36 million USDT, up 164.52% from the prior hour. The latest four full hours saw a cumulative gain of 6.92%, with trading volume 2.37 times that of the preceding four hours. The expansion in price and volume is continuing, but the current price is already about 1.80% below the previous hour’s close. Open interest by quantity increased 5.68% over the latest hour and 15.75% cumulatively over the 30-point window. Both the indicated funding rate and the latest settlement rate were +0.0100%, not yet at an extreme positive level. The concurrent rise in price, trading volume, and open interest suggests increasing leverage participation, but open interest cannot determine whether new positions are net long or net short, and normal funding rates do not mean pullback risk has disappeared. I view 9.190 as a short-term confirmation level. Only if a subsequent full 1-hour candle holds above that level, while trading volume and open interest do not fade rapidly, would that support a continued test of higher ranges. If the price falls back below 8.636 alongside a contraction in open interest, I would prioritize treating it as deleveraging after a spike. The current hourly candle has not closed, so an intrahour surge should not be treated as a substitute for confirmation at the close.

STBL just printed an extreme hourly candle, then quickly gave back its gains. Public Binance data at 09:36 (UTC+8) showed the $STBL perpetual contract at 0.02784, up 28.53% over 24 hours, with trading volume of about 56.27 million USDT. The token currently has only perpetual trading. The previous full 1-hour candle gained 30.75%, rising from 0.02444 to 0.05420, with trading volume of about 37.71 million USDT, up 4,932.46% from the prior hour. However, the current price is already 20.05% below that candle's close. The last four full hours saw a cumulative gain of 63.01%, while trading volume was 367.84 times that of the preceding four hours—showing both explosive strength and a sharp giveback after the spike. Quantity-based OI rose 90.16% in the latest hour and 117.61% cumulatively over the 30-point window. The indicated funding rate is +0.0337%, while the latest actual settlement was +0.0050%. The simultaneous expansion in price, volume, and positions confirms leveraged participation during this hour, but OI cannot reveal the direction of new positions, and positive funding also raises the cost of chasing longs. 0.02444 is the key risk threshold. Only if a subsequent full 1-hour candle reclaims 0.03482, while volume and OI do not continue to fade, would another test of 0.05420 be plausible. Conversely, a break below 0.02444 combined with a rapid decline in OI would signal that this burst is deleveraging. Confirm using closing data; do not chase a rebound within an unclosed hourly candle.

After doubling in 24 hours, AGT has shifted from a one-way rally to high-level turnover. Public Binance data at 07:36 (UTC+8) showed the $AGT perpetual contract at 0.035683, up 110.57% over 24 hours, with approximately 214 million USDT in trading volume; the token currently has only perpetual trading. The previous full 1-hour candle closed almost flat, down just 0.08%, but trading volume rose 146.04% from the prior hour. The hourly low was 0.029282 and the high was 0.037313. The current price is 1.35% below that hour’s close; over the last four full hours, it has pulled back a cumulative 1.17%, with trading volume at just 0.73 times that of the preceding four hours. Trading remains active after the spike, but momentum has not strengthened accordingly. Quantity OI fell 4.71% over the last hour, while the 30-point window still shows a cumulative increase of 65.93%. The indicative funding rate is +0.0777%, and the latest actual settlement was +0.086549%. Medium-term positions remain elevated, while short-term deleveraging has already emerged. The positive funding rate means the cost of chasing longs and the risk of amplified drawdowns cannot be ignored. OI alone cannot determine the direction of newly opened positions. I’m treating 0.029282–0.037313 as the short-term confirmation zone. Only a full 1H candle closing back above 0.037313, alongside a recovery in trading volume and no further rapid contraction in OI, would support another test of the highs. If price breaks below 0.029282 while OI continues to fall, the move should primarily be treated as post-spike deleveraging. The current hourly candle has not closed, so intraday fluctuations do not count as confirmation.
