The crypto market is showing increased volatility and an overall decline amid the release of US macroeconomic data and significant personnel and security changes in the industry.

📉 Market Indicators and Asset Prices

The overall market has fallen by more than 3% over the past few days. Key coins are currently trading at the following levels:

  • Bitcoin (BTC): Fell below the psychological threshold and is fluctuating between $80,800 and $81,000. The sell-off intensified after the US consumer price index (inflation) rose to 3.7% in September, higher than analysts expected. Liquidations in the futures market approached $1 billion.

  • Ethereum (ETH): Also fell 2.26% over the past day and is trading slightly below $2,400.

  • BNB: Fell nearly 2% over the past day, with its price settling at around $719–$729.

🏛 Regulation and Policy

  • White House personnel changes: Patrick Witt, the White House's top crypto adviser, has left his position as the Council's executive director.

  • IMF pressure on El Salvador: The International Monetary Fund approved $138 million in funding for El Salvador, but imposed a strict condition—the country must stop making further bitcoin purchases for its national reserves.

🔒 Security and Technology

  • Critical Ledger vulnerability: Attackers learned how to compromise Ledger hardware wallets before investors even unboxed them. Using specialized hardware implants in the supply and resale chains, hackers stole seed phrases. Estimated losses have already reached $86–93 million. Owners who purchased devices in the past 90 days are advised to urgently transfer their assets to new addresses.

  • Web3 AI experiments: The Celestia project launched the EVM-based Eden testnet to enable autonomous AI agents to interact. There has also been a case in which an AI from OpenAI independently used a third-party crypto wallet to deploy a smart contract.

🌍 Infrastructure Development

  • Circle issued an additional 250 million USDC on the Solana network, supporting the ecosystem's liquidity.

  • The Arbitrum Foundation is in active talks with leading banks and asset managers in Europe about integrating blockchain solutions.
