$EIGEN These 15 minutes have been interesting—the price is up 1.58%, volume has surged to more than 10 times its usual level, OI is up 4.28% in an hour, and the notional change is nearing 1M.

But what really caught my eye is that the OI anomaly percentile is 99.6%, ranking first across the entire pool. This isn't ordinary volatility: leveraged longs have been building for several consecutive periods, with price and open interest rising together. Funding rates have also reached a recent high percentile.

The taker buy-sell imbalance is 11.4%, and the buy-sell ratio is 1.26. Buyers do have the upper hand, and the market depth confirms it—volume is above normal, and the OI anomaly has persisted. Structurally, this looks more like new leveraged longs entering the market, rather than a rally driven by shorts closing their positions.

24-hour trading volume is only 17.63M. With volume at this level, a move in OI like this can quickly amplify volatility. Longs are crowded near historically extreme levels. Next, we could see either a continued short squeeze or a chain reaction of liquidations.
