Both are leading public blockchains, but what exactly sets Bitcoin and Ethereum apart?
This is how I understand it: Bitcoin prioritizes simple rules and network stability, so protocol changes are very conservative; Ethereum prioritizes programmability and ecosystem growth, so its protocol is upgraded more often.
Bitcoin uses the UTXO model for accounting, while Ethereum uses the account model. The two accounting methods are different.
What I do: When making transfers on Ethereum, I keep a small amount of ETH for gas; transaction fees on the Bitcoin network are paid in BTC.
$BTC and $ETH are the native coins of Bitcoin and Ethereum, respectively, but they serve different roles. The current price is 81486.01.
