$Q 4 hours: MACD forms a golden cross above the zero line.
When I first started learning MACD, I’d act as soon as I saw a golden cross or a death cross. Later, I realized that how much weight to give a crossover depends on where it occurs and on the one-way move leading up to it. A golden cross above the zero line is often seen as a sign that the trend will continue, while one below the zero line is more often seen as a rebound. Looking at the crossover alone can easily lead to misjudgments.
Many people compare different timeframes: when the daily trend remains unchanged, a countertrend crossover on a shorter timeframe is often just a pullback or a small rebound.
Indicators can be wrong, but risk management shouldn’t be skipped. Thinking in advance about what you’ll do if you’re wrong is more important than guessing whether you’re right.
Just chatting—this isn’t advice.
