What was added last night was not a countdown to the $ETH mainnet upgrade, but a firm date for Glamsterdam’s final public testnet: on October 16, the Ethereum Foundation announced that Hoodi will activate at epoch 132,352 on October 26 at 17:42:48 UTC; the mainnet date is still TBD.

This is more like a stress test for validators, staking services, and infrastructure. Sepolia activated on October 6, and the gas limit will also rise to 200M when Hoodi activates. The official announcement also listed the consensus-layer and execution-layer client versions that need to be compatible. Any claim that this directly signals good news for the mainnet is an inference, not an announced fact.

At 10:11 (UTC+8), Binance spot $ETH was around 2426.58 USDT, down 0.40% over 24 hours, with about 669 million USDT in trading volume; $LDO was around 0.4021 USDT, up 0.32%, with about 3.979 million USDT in trading volume. A bullish view depends on Hoodi completing smoothly and client coverage being brought up to date; with the mainnet schedule still unannounced, the outlook is neutral. The biggest risk to this view is problems with client compatibility or validator operations, which would first impact expectations for staking infrastructure.

Are you more focused on Hoodi’s performance or on when the mainnet date will be set?
