Been using Ledger hardware wallets for years. Recent supply chain attacks with malicious hardware implants? Didn't shake my trust one bit.

Actually reinforced something critical: For any device holding your $BTC, you should be able to crack it open and inspect it yourself.

Bitcoin's first principle since day one:
Don't trust, verify.

This shouldn't just apply to software and cryptography. It extends to the physical devices securing your private keys.

I'm not against tamper-evident seals or anti-tamper designs. As long as the design is transparent and doesn't block independent third-party audits, it's fine.

Ledger devices are relatively easy to disassemble and inspect internally. That's exactly why these malicious hardware mods got caught and investigated in the first place.

No hardware wallet is 100% immune to supply chain attacks. But your asset security shouldn't rely entirely on trusting manufacturers or distributors.

Being able to physically open and inspect your device doesn't guarantee absolute safety. But at minimum, you should have the ability to verify what you're actually holding, and whether someone tampered with it.

Real trust comes from the ability to verify yourself, not from someone telling you "it's secure" and you blindly believing it.
