【AVAX: At this level, I’m expecting a choppy market—but don’t celebrate just yet】

Honestly, I’m genuinely a bit torn about $ 9.95.

Here’s my take: over the next 7 days, I think AVAX will trade sideways. It doesn’t have enough momentum to move up, but there’s limited room to fall, too. After this choppy stretch, though, it will most likely pick a direction.

Three reasons:

First, the price is just a little over 20 cents away from the key support level at 9.69. If it can’t hold here, there may be no floor below. But if it does hold, technical traders will jump in to catch a rebound. I’ve seen this kind of “just barely holding on” level too many times—both bulls and bears are waiting for the other side to make the first move.

Second, the unusually high trading volume needs to be looked at from different angles. Rising volume means something is happening, but it doesn’t necessarily signal a rally. Sometimes big players are selling off; sometimes institutions are rotating positions; and sometimes bulls and bears are taking swings at each other. The increase in AVAX’s trading volume right now looks more like large investors are adjusting their positions than retail traders buying the dip.

Third, a 93% drop is definitely frightening. But being deeply oversold doesn’t mean the price can rally right away. There’s still the question of “what would make it go up?” A sentiment index reading of 63 suggests the market isn’t in despair yet—it hasn’t reached the kind of bottom where “everyone has given up.”

To put it plainly: if AVAX can hold steady at this level, that would be good news for developers in its ecosystem—at least the funding environment won’t get any worse. But for ordinary holders, sideways markets are the hardest to endure. It’s tough to have bought halfway down.

What would make me admit I’m wrong? Simple: if AVAX breaks below 9.69 on heavy volume and fails to recover, I’ll have to reassess. Another warning sign would be a market-wide plunge across altcoins—AVAX wouldn’t be able to hold up against that, either.

What do you think—can it hold at this level?
