There’s something interesting going on with ICNT.

The price is down 1.25% over 15m, volume is only 0.70x, and volatility is muted—it looks like a slow bleed that nobody’s paying attention to. But OI is climbing at the same time: +2.5% over 15m and +4% over 1h, adding 237K in notional value.

Price down, OI up, and funding is still in a high percentile relative to recent levels. This doesn’t look like spot selling dragging down the perps; it looks more like someone is actively adding leveraged shorts at this level. Taker imbalance is -4%, the buy/sell ratio is 0.92, so there’s selling pressure, but nothing close to panic.

OI’s abnormality percentile is 82.7%, ranking #20 across the whole pool. 24h trading volume is 117 million, so liquidity is decent—this isn’t just a small pool trading among itself.

My read: shorts are building positions gradually, not piling in all at once in a FOMO rush. Volume hasn’t picked up, which suggests the bigger players are still waiting on the sidelines. If the price keeps moving sideways or bounces a little, shorts may keep adding. But if a sudden green candle pushes funding back down, these new shorts could become fuel.

I’ll mark it for monitoring, but won’t take a position yet. I’ll wait for a signal from volume or funding.
