MicroStrategy could get kicked out of the index

MSCI has introduced tests based on the share of operating assets and financial ratios. Strategy is stuffed so full of Bitcoin that it’s landed on the watchlist of possible removals. We’ll know on November 11. The stock tanked 9% that day, to $137.5.

If passive funds tracking the index are forced to dump their shares, billions of dollars in selling pressure could cripple Saylor’s stock-for-Bitcoin flywheel. In the short term, BTC could be shaken by the sentiment; watch whether spot order books can absorb a retest of support. Large transfers to exchanges on-chain haven’t picked up yet, which suggests the big players aren’t really running—they’re waiting for panic sellers to hand over their coins. How much room there is for a rebound depends on how thoroughly this shakeout plays out.
