YOUR VPN IS WORKING FOR CHINESE SCAMMERS $BTC
A subscriber sent our tip line screenshots from a closed group of Chinese scammers. They do their work using infected software.
They funnel traffic through VPNs to target Russians. In Russia, VPNs are downloaded through links outside the app store—and that’s where they slip in the malware.
You download one of these “VPNs,” and it rummages through your notes and photos, looking for your wallet’s seed phrase.
They also exploit a vulnerability in older versions of iOS. On an iPhone that hasn’t been updated, simply opening a link is enough—the phone hands everything over by itself.
Then a dashboard shown in the screenshots tracks the wallet. The label reads: “Big fish, over $100,000.”
They leave the small fry alone so they don’t get caught. They sit and wait until there’s a big score.
On August 27, 451,700 USDT landed in the wallet. Three minutes later, it was empty. That same morning, two more wallets were drained the same way. Total: $481,000.
Garlic checked the wallet on the blockchain. Everything checks out; it doesn’t look fake.
Only get your wallet from the App Store, keep your seed phrase on paper, and update your iPhone.
