According to CNBC, the NBA is tightening restrictions on bets offered by its authorized gambling partners and has developed an internal AI platform to help identify suspicious wagers ahead of the 2026-2027 season. The restrictions cover bets on who scores the first basket, players expected to play less than 12 minutes per game, and parlays combining bets on the same player’s underperformance. The platform analyzes basketball data, injury reports, social media information about player availability and individual betting data.
