Here's what happened when Bitcoin tested $97,000 last week.
The biggest pain right now is watching $BTC stall after a big run and not knowing whether to exit or average down. Too many get wrecked buying the hype.
Bitcoin climbed from $82,000 to nearly $98,000 in a month before reversing 12 percent. This setup reminds me of the 2017 run-up to $20k where similar round-number resistance triggered a 30 percent drop that later became the launchpad for the real bull. Unlike $ETH which has been consolidating tighter, Bitcoin's move came with massive volume that suggests whales taking profits.
The 2021 comparison is even closer. After hitting $64k, it dumped hard but institutions weren't as involved then. Now with more capital, the pullbacks tend to be shallower. $SOL dropped 18 percent in the same window, showing how Bitcoin still leads but alts suffer more.
History tells us these events teach patience. The next move often depends on whether support at $85k holds, similar to past cycles where that level marked the bottom of the range.
Where do you think this goes from here?
