Wallet and security basics: private keys and addresses
· An Ethereum address is derived from the last 20 bytes of the Keccak-256 hash of the public key. It is written as 0x followed by 40 hexadecimal characters.
· Bitcoin and Ethereum private keys are both essentially large 256-bit random numbers, and both use the secp256k1 elliptic curve.
