$BTC After breaking below 80,000, the price immediately turned back up. This rebound is driven by liquidity returning as shorts close their positions, and has absolutely nothing to do with improving fundamentals.

This rally is also pretty much running out of steam. It topped out near 82,600, then was held back by the 82,800 level—the spot that used to be a floor supporting the price has now become a ceiling pressing down on it.

Meanwhile, fewer and fewer people are willing to buy below 80,000, and the new buying pressure isn’t enough to fill the gap. The market structure is already starting to look shaky.

In other words, if 80,000 breaks again, the price won’t drift down slowly—it’ll plunge straight toward the 75,000 area in search of support.

For now, it makes sense to reduce spot holdings, and there’s nothing wrong with taking a bearish position in futures. Unless something unexpected happens, this grinding downtrend will continue through around December 9, when the Fed holds its final rate-setting meeting of the year.

By then, have your powder dry. When it’s time to act, scale back in decisively and wait for the wind to shift.
