4.08 million bitcoins in the hands of the least committed holders
Guys, on-chain data just flashed a signal
Short-term holders (addresses that have held BTC for less than 155 days) now hold 4.08 million BTC
(Figures vary across platforms; another on-chain data provider shows 3.67 million BTC)
But the trend is the same: these most sensitive, quickest-to-sell coins are piling up

What does that mean? Short-term holders are new money and speculators
Their cost basis is $73,700; BTC is now at $81,978, giving them about 11% in unrealized gains
Their total unrealized gains amount to $43.8 billion, a 15% premium
What's more worth watching: 86% of the bitcoin recently sent to exchanges came from them
And those coins were transferred at a profit—the highest share in a year
On a typical day, that share is below 40%

The data has two sides
One is fuel: new money is coming in, bringing fresh liquidity to the market
The other is selling pressure: holders sitting on gains have every incentive to take profits, and may bolt at the first sign of trouble

Of course, high short-term holder balances don't mean the market has peaked, nor do they mean a drop is coming
This indicator was also high during the 2023 recovery
But an 86% share of profitable transfers has indeed reached a one-year warning level

My view is clear
Keep a close eye on two signals
First, the $73,700 cost basis. A break below it would put new investors collectively in the red, amplifying panic
Second, the profitable transfer ratio. Staying above 80% would signal continued distribution
As for trading, the $80,000 line in the sand still stands—don't chase the market when profit-taking is peaking

For veterans, stacking coins is a conviction
For newcomers, they're just chips—and they'll scatter at the first gust of wind 😂
