Bitcoin’s block reward is denominated in satoshis in the code. After successive halvings, it will eventually become 0, and no new coins will be produced after that.
The halving only affects the rate at which new coins are produced. There is no relationship with the price written into the protocol, and there are only four historical examples to refer to.
The halving of $BTC takes place according to block height, not on a particular calendar date. Currently 82365.83.
