Crypto Basics | How Are Native Coins Different from Tokens?
A native coin is an asset built into a blockchain itself, such as BTC on the Bitcoin network, ETH on Ethereum, and BNB on BNB Smart Chain.
It’s useful to know the difference between native coins and tokens: choosing a network, preparing gas, and checking contract addresses all require knowing which type of asset you have.
$ETH is Ethereum’s native coin. Token transfers on Ethereum all require $ETH to pay for gas.
Don’t put all your savings into a single project.
