Bitcoin: Short-Term Holders reach 4.08M BTC (highest since June)
According to on-chain data from Axel Adler Jr (CryptoQuant), the supply held by Short-Term Holders rose to 4.08 million BTC, its highest level since mid-June.
Key data:
• +422,000 BTC (+12%) since the July 29 low
• +154,000 BTC in the first two weeks of October
• +48,000 BTC in the last week alone (the pace slowed)
New buyers entered mainly in the $82,000–$86,000 range.
The group’s average cost basis is ~$74,900, with its unrealized profit cushion shrinking from 16% to 10%.
Takeaway: As long as BTC stays above $74,900, the group remains in aggregate profit. A sustained break below that level would leave a significant portion of these recent buyers with unrealized losses and could increase selling pressure.
The growth in STH supply indicates an inflow of new capital, but the slowdown in the weekly pace suggests demand is moderating.
