🚀 Visa has learned to refuel with stablecoins.

Imagine you run a money transfer service. Tomorrow is Sunday, the banks are closed, and you urgently need to send payouts to a dozen countries. Before, that meant waiting until Monday or keeping huge sums of money “just in case” in accounts around the world.

There’s now a way around that: you can top up your balance with USDC. In the middle of the night, on the weekend.

What happened:

Visa launched this for real, not as a test. Its Visa Direct service, essentially a pipeline for sending money to cards, accounts, and wallets, now accepts USDC as “fuel.” Companies can top up their accounts around the clock, without depending on bank hours.

Who’s first?

Inyo Global. It works with money transmitters, fintechs, and banks. Inyo’s clients use the same APIs as before, and the new feature is available to them without a separate integration. In other words, there’s no need to rebuild anything—a new button has simply appeared.

Where did this come from?

It all began in September 2025 as an experiment at the Sibos conference. Then came payout pilots and partnerships with BVNK and zerohash—and now the first real commercial entry on the “live” list.

What does this mean for ordinary people?

Almost nothing directly, for now. You won’t receive USDC on your card. But in the future, money could move between countries faster and more cheaply because the companies moving it behind the scenes won’t have to wait for banks to open.

What’s the catch?

The service is available only to “eligible” Inyo clients.

Coverage in 180+ countries refers to the entire Inyo platform; it doesn’t guarantee that USDC top-ups work in every one of them.

Whether this becomes widespread depends on whether other partners sign on to the model.

Bottom line: stablecoins are moving out of the world of “crypto enthusiasts” and into the plumbing of global payments—quietly, for now, and at the back-office level. 🛠️
