There's an extra “Memo” field on the deposit page. Can I leave it blank?
Using a shared address with a Memo lets exchanges avoid managing a huge number of addresses. The trade-off is that the string of numbers is the only way to identify who a deposit belongs to.
New XRP and XLM addresses must first receive enough coins to meet the minimum reserve requirement before they can be activated. Transfers below the required amount will fail.
