Let me bring up a concept—if you already know it, think of this as a refresher.
What are Memo and Tag used for when depositing crypto?
Put simply, if you forget to enter or enter the wrong Memo / Tag when depositing to an exchange, your assets usually won’t be credited automatically. You’ll need to contact the platform to request their recovery.
Memo / Tag is just a note for the recipient. The blockchain doesn’t check whether it’s correct, so the transfer will still go through even if you enter it incorrectly.
When depositing $XRP to an exchange, you usually need to enter both the address and the destination tag (Tag).
You should be the only one who keeps your recovery phrase and private key. Never share them with anyone claiming to be “customer support.”
I’m just sharing some information; this is not investment advice.
