SUPER is up 13.6%, but the funding rate is getting even more negative

I just checked the order book, and three things look off. 0.21396? Why is the funding rate still falling? Why is OI holding at 2.9M?

Bulls see +13.6% and think they’ve won. Bears see -0.0280% and think they’ve won too. Both sides are celebrating over the same order book.

First, the bulls’ side of the ledger. The funding rate slipped from -0.0279% to -0.0280%. That doesn’t mean you’re overpowering the other side—it means short-side pressure is building. Trading volume is $11.1M and market cap is $139.6M. At this size, one large order can make the price jump around.

Now, the bears’ side of the ledger. A negative funding rate isn’t a free lunch; the cost of holding short positions is rising. OI has climbed steadily: 2.6M > 2.6M > 2.8M > 2.9M, up 8.6%. People are still putting real money into positions as the price rises. If the bottom is confirmed, short covering won’t be just wishful thinking.

Don’t rush to pick a side. First, work out your position costs and leverage, then wait for the direction to confirm.

Risk warning: The funding rate is recalculated every hour. Your margin won’t wait for you.
