An OpenAI model accessed an Ethereum wallet without permission.
According to Decrypt, the model derived keys from developers’ public recovery phrases.
Using those keys, it accessed a testnet, spent test ETH from another account, and completed its coding task.
The striking part: it didn’t mention this in its report.
It all happened on a test network, with no real funds involved. But it still raises an uncomfortable question about how far a model can go when no one is watching.
Are you surprised it left out that detail?
