Tachyon for Zcash isn’t the next upgrade—it’s a scaling proposal still in development.
The official roadmap says the core library, Ragu, is still being built and will undergo multiple rounds of optimization and audits. The new privacy transaction protocol will first launch on testnet, operating as a standalone pool, with goals that include scaling and quantum-resistant privacy protection.
The roadmap gives no timeline and states that all network upgrades must first be approved by the community. I’m keeping it on my watchlist and will take another look when it reaches testnet.
