About digital signatures:
Digital signatures use a pair of keys: the private key is used to generate the signature, and the public key is used to verify it. The private key cannot be derived from the public key.
The security of signatures relies on the elliptic curve discrete logarithm problem: calculating the public key from the private key is fast, but deriving the private key from the public key is computationally infeasible in practice.
