Recently, I’ve started following Nillion$NIL again, and I think what’s most exciting about it is no longer just “privacy computing” itself, but the new on-chain possibilities enabled by Covenants + Dusk.
Nillion’s core idea is simple: to compute and use data while keeping it private. This is very important for AI, finance, and on-chain applications—for example, in the future, we may be able to let AI use data without directly exposing the raw data.
I’m especially looking forward to Covenants. As Dusk advances, users will be able to bind instructions to specific conditions, so they are only executed or decrypted once those conditions are met. This could lead to more private transactions, automatically executing AI Agents, conditional payments, and on-chain applications that are more resistant to front-running.
If Dusk can later expand to Ethereum and more EVM networks, I think Nillion’s potential will grow significantly.
There are three things I’ll be watching most closely:
1️⃣ Real-world implementation of Dusk/Covenants
2️⃣ More applications emerging in the ecosystem
3️⃣ Whether AI Agents really start using Nillion’s privacy infrastructure
I believe the real value isn’t how cool the concept of “privacy” is, but whether it can make privacy a fundamental capability of on-chain applications.
