$XAU JPMorgan": AI stocks may not recover quickly from the October selloff

- JPMorgan’s global strategy team says AI stocks do not appear poised for a rapid, strong recovery like the rebound they saw last July, amid the sharp selloff weighing on the sector this October, according to a MarketWatch report.

AI-related stocks plunged in July before quickly resuming their climb in a strong recovery. But the bank’s analysts say the conditions that supported that rebound are no longer in place to the same extent, making a repeat of the same scenario less likely for now.

JPMorgan market analyst Nikolaos Panigirtzoglou said AI infrastructure stocks do not appear to be in oversold territory from investors’ perspective, given the absence of what he described as a “buy-the-dip mentality”—the tendency to snap up stocks after their prices fall.
